Faqs

Do I need to wear specific kit?

No — just bring your own gear: shin pads, shorts, socks, shirt, and suitable footwear. We provide bibs and footballs.
We recommend Astroturf trainers for comfort and to reduce injury risk, although small moulded studs are fine if the pitch allows.

Can I just turn up on the night?

No. We need to know who’s coming so we can organise teams and get matches started quickly.
You can still book online on the day as long as there’s space available.

When’s the latest I can book?

You can book right up to kick-off if there’s still space.
However, we decide whether to go ahead about two hours before kick-off. If too few players are booked by then, we’ll cancel the game to avoid no-shows or poor match quality.

How do I book and pay?

It’s simple — each week you’ll get an invite link a few days before the games.
Click the link to book your place, then pay by bank transfer or PayPal.
If you don’t have either, you can have a friend book and pay for you, and just settle with them in cash.

Are there sometimes too many or too few players?

Once things are running smoothly, we almost always have enough players for a good game.
If numbers drop (for example, when England are in a big match!), we’ll cancel and let everyone know in advance.
Each venue has a set player limit. Some nights we can expand — e.g. open a second pitch and run a mini tournament night.

Can I come on my own?

Absolutely. Many players start out on their own and quickly make friends.
You can also come with a small group — we’ll make sure everyone gets a good game. It’s a welcoming community of like-minded players who just want to stay active and enjoy football.

How much does it cost?

It’s free to join and receive invites — most groups charge membership, but we don’t.
Match fees depend on location, pitch, and numbers — usually £5–£7 per game.
You can support us by using our Amazon store links when shopping, which helps keep the platform free.

I can’t make it that night — are there other games?

We aim to have games every week, and as local groups grow, we’ll add extra nights.
It takes a bit of time to expand, so please be patient — and you’re always welcome to skip invites until a day suits you better.

Can I bring friends?

Yes! You can either book and pay for them yourself, or send us their details and we’ll register them.
Bringing friends helps the group grow and means more games for everyone.

How do I join, and what details do you need?

Click “Join Now”, then provide:

  • Your email address (for match invites and updates)
  • Your mobile number (so we can add you to the WhatsApp groups)

If you’re not on WhatsApp, you can still use the email invites or check the Upcoming Matches page on the website.

Do I have to be a Dad?

Not at all.
The name reflects the style of play — fun, competitive, but fair. We avoid aggressive tackles and unnecessary drama.
If that sounds like your kind of football, you’re welcome — Dad or not.
